We start each event with a brief greeting as we separate those who attend into their team spaces (a.k.a. Zoom breakout rooms). This process is at its speediest when individuals’ names on screen match the names they registered under.
Then, we move into a discussion of our rules and expectations. Individuals and teams are expected to come up with answers independently, without returning to source materials or using search engines.
Finally, we begin our rounds of trivia. In approximately two hours, we cover five rounds of trivia with ten questions in each round. The rounds are themed and all answers within each round will fall into a category. Trivia questions are read aloud, teams have a chance to communicate about their answers, and then answers are submitted using GoogleForms.
At the end of each round, correct answers are revealed and the forms are scored. There are two breaks in the evening where you will spend additional time in your team spaces. Once after the third round we will give you a break and then a first look at the leaderboard. Then, after round five, you will be given another break before all scores (and the winners!) are announced!
The evening will, therefore, include entering and exiting breakout rooms in Zoom! You will see and hear our team of three as we read trivia, tally scores, and monitor any questions that arise! It’s a great time, and we hope to see you there!
